Sebastien, thx - I've uploaded hopefully the stuff you suggested.
Initially I tried using the "Print Screen" button - but as soon as I
pressed it, the desktop screen fixed itself! :-(

Just updated to 14.04.1 and added lxqt and xfce.

Fixed - I'm not quite sure what I did, but changing various monitor
