Can confirm that I have exactly the same issue with 9.10 beta and all
current updates. PPTP connections do not work at all.

I am unable to un-tick the 'Enable support to enter complex characters'
check-box under 'Input Methods' in gnome-language-selector, if I un-tick
it and click 'Apply' it switches itself back on again.
Is there another way to switch this
