Public bug reported: simple-scan can't find my HP scanner.
If I bring up simple-scan from the apps menu the Scanner box is blank and there's no way to enter data into it. If I start it from the command line, passing scanner type and IP address ( simple-scan hpaio:/net/psc_2500_series?ip=10.0.0.1 ) it finds the scanner and scans, and this scanner shows up in the Preferences "Scanner" box, but there's no way to save it on the Preferences screen. I can't find any way to set and save this preference via application configuration either. Using dconf-editor I can edit the selected-device parameter to add my scanner to the selected-devices field but when I start simple-scan it doesn't see the device. Curiously, if I use dconf- editor to change the save-directory field, the new directory is used to save. I also am unable to find a way to add the scanner type & IP address to the apps menu launcher. ** Affects: simple-scan (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1917962 Title: can't save selected_device parameter To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/simple-scan/+bug/1917962/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
