I've installed plymouth 0.9.3-1ubuntu10.1 from the cosmic-proposed repository and I now have the Xubuntu boot splash screen back and no longer experience a crash after logging in. Thanks to everyone involved in fixing this. Steve -- You received this bug notification because you are a member

Just to add to the authentication issue: On Ubuntu 12.04 I am experiencing this problem now. I have a Kodak Hero 5.1 with the driver in synaptic as well as Launchpad. Was working fine but since various updates I can no longer connect via wireless on this home printer. I can connect easily via

UPDATE: The mods suggested above sadly did not help with Natty. I've done a total, clean install of 10.04 LTS UbuntuStudio (as I wanted the low-latency kernel for music apps). With UbuntuStudio 10.04: * Video so far works now without a hitch, straight out of the box with my ATI RV370 [Radeon

2011-09-18 Thread Steve Taylor
Hi all, I am a completely new Linux user. I moved from a totally broken Win XP environment to Ubuntu 11.04 a couple of weeks ago, expecting a streamlined, fast and functional system, with Unity 3D as a fancy GUI. But from the outset I have had diabolical issues with screen rendering corruption

Here's an example of how (presumably) OpenGL content gets stuffed even with correctly-rendered Ubuntu Classic (no effects) window surroundings... Just to confirm, this is ATI x300 (sorry if this is the wrong place for the report). ** Attachment added: Selecting OpenGL screensaver within Ubuntu

Bearing in mind that it's early days for Unity, it's as well to remember that new builds are tested in the wild on us. Only then can they be 'completed'. Gnome 3, maybe, should be the main development with Unity being a spin off build for those who have the kit. For me at least I just want
