Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Could you please add the log files from '/var/log/dist-
upgrade/' to this bugreport as attachments to your bug report? Thanks

** Changed in: update-manager
Still present after clean Gutsy install. Blacklisting ata_piix as
suggested in bug 139790 does not work for me; I have to wait for the
boot to fail and drop to a busybox shell. Is there any workaround to
allow the machine to boot normally?
Also can this bug be upgraded from status New? Issue has
I previously raised as bug 133892 against Feisty - full machine spec is shown.
I can boot as above but even booting with break=mount it takes too long to
drop to busybox. I've tried blacklisting ata_piix in /etc/modprobe.d to no
effect. Is there a workaround which will allow the laptop to boot
Public bug reported:

Upgraded to feisty using aptitude dist-upgrade and kernel 2.6.20-15 was
installed which would not boot - system hangs. Later upgrade to
Dapper.
