I too have been unable to reproduce this bug. However since this is a
card game I would reccomend running the following command in your
terminal (Applications>Accessories>Terminal)
sudo apt-get purge gnome-games gnome-games-data gnome-cards-data &&
sudo apt-get install gnome-games gnome-games-data

any error messages? If so, what do they say? What type of file(s) are
you trying to play that won't start? Have you tried several different
file-types with the same results? Have you tried running these files on

I may have been mistaken in my original analysis. I believe it is just
the GDM background that displays during startup. You should only need to
change the background color under the "Login Window" settings, not your
