Public bug reported: I downloaded Ubuntu 8.04.1 live cd and tried to boot my IBM Thinkpad T42 laptop. This laptop (and many other thinkpad laptops) has an Intel 82540EP Gig-E wired network chip. The 8.04.1 livecd failed to load a network driver for the chip. I also have a live cd from ubuntu
