Same poweroff problem on a Desktop Shuttle SB81P with latest BIOS,
Dapper, 686 kernel and Dapper.
Hi Nico, after some research somebody on linuxquestions has found this
problem is actually due to the Intel HDA sound driver. I've confirmed
the workaround on two different Shuttle XPC models,
Open the ZIP with Archive Manager (file-roller), then right click on the
file B.cpp and select View File, enter gedit as the viewing
application, then as gedit loads:

Can you boot off a live-CD and check that networking works there. How
are you building initramfs? Try adding the module name for your NIC to

With 7600GT and 2xApple 23 I see the same with the nv driver. With the
restricted driver the configuration works perfectly when using nvidia-
settings, saving the xorg.org without merging.
I am speculating that nvidia doesn't write to the RandR format
specification correctly.

Trying to set dual monitors with the restricted nvidia driver using
displayconfig-gtk I end up with the primary monitor with 3200x2048
virtual resolution, secondary 1:1, both at 1920x1200 real resolution.
No greeter crash.
Why is the Virtual 3200 2048 line in there?

Ok, decided to do it myself. This patch is tested against OOO.o and it
works fine, the code is similar to the gimps clipboard handling.

With nsc 2.8.1 disabling all the Xorg modules but extmod seems to remove
artifacting, as LTSP 4.2 views correctly. nsc 2.8.2 has a bug regarding mmap()
of the framebuffer. New upstream version exists in Gutsy. Need to re-test
a.s.a.p.
