Recently upgraded from a regularly updated Ubuntu 14.04 LTS to Ubuntu
16.04. I have had a problem with dpkg complaining about struct and then
python-minimal.
I tried to remove the existing python2.7 packages ( later
/usr/lib/python2.7 as well ) and then doing a clean install

I installed flashplugin-nonfree using synaptic. The list of add-ons
still stays that I have Shockwave Flash 9.0 r999, Flash still does not
appear in the drop down menu, and the videos still do not play.

Since the reply from Micah Gersten, I have installed Firefox 3.5
(Shiretoko). I then went to the Adobe website and downloaded and ran
install_flash_player_10_linux.deb.
Actually, it said that I was reinstalling it.
