I'm also having Shutter segfault when I either click the edit image
icon, or use ctrl+e to edit an image.
It happens with saved images and also screenshots taken with Shutter
itself.
Problem first appeared when I was using Debian Testing 64bit, I have
since installed Ubuntu 32bit 12.04 and upgrad

I've remained out of the discussion since my initial post, however saying that
its over reaction when a button that is actively used is then removed from the
interface is not constructive.
People like myself used that button, a lot. Clearly you didn't use it,
or are happy with way it work
I came looking for a solution to the missing toggle button also, and was
less than happy to see that upstream yet again remove something many
people use daily.
I did a little more digging and found something not mentioned yet, it
does help a bit too.

I just want to add that I think I am seeing the same behaviour described
by Michael Cook above in post #22.
Certainly things are a lot better now, but there is something still
amiss by the looks of it.

Clean installed after a patchy dist upgrade with seemingly random
application crashes.

Since updating to karmic with dist upgrade I have seen this a few times, just
received it again now after performing :

apt_check.py crashed with SIGSEGV in pkgCacheGenerato
I have made a temporary (I hope it is) workaround for this by adding a
cron job to simply remove any nzb files from the working directory every
5minutes like so:
*/5 * * * * rm -f /mnt/store/hella/daemon.working/*.nzb* > /dev/null
2>&1
Adjust "/mnt/store/hella/daemon.working/" wo your working dir
I upgraded to Jaunty a couple days ago and now I have everything setup I
started to download a few things. I promptly encountered the problem
with Hellanzb hanging after downloading.
Its happened a few times now today and in all cases so far there was an
nzb file in the working folder of Hellanzb
Ok, I decided to try Envy sooner than I had planned or I would have
waited to post the above comment.
Installing version 96.43.05 of the nvidia driver using Envy (shockingly
simple thing to do which was a bonus) and I have my virtual terminals
back, fingers crossed nothing else has broken or wine/
Last night I did a dist upgrade to Hardy and have no virtual terminals still,
so yes it is still a problem.
I will try the fix using Envy to install nvidia driver version 96.43.05 if I
can and see what happens.

Confirmed here also, originally had the virtual terminals prior to
allowing Gutsy to install the nvidia restricted drivers. I have no

Attempted to perform a fix mentioned by others of:
sudo modprobe vga16fb
sudo modprobe fbcon
