I've checked it, we have a puppet user in NIS but no puppet group. Btw. I
don't think that NIS is directly the problem, I would expect the same problem
with
ldap.
I think the script should check with getent if ther is a puppet user and only
if there is no it should create
the account.

I have fresh installed karmic 64bit, and boinc 6.4.5
The problem is exactly the same.
The workarouan as described above worked.
I replaced the symlink of ca-bundle.crt with
a copy from the website.
Now it works!

Upgrade to feisty causes loss of TTYs due to incorrect file mangling
I want to confirm this. I originally had compiz which after update to 7.04 not
started . But here
I had the effect that after 2-3 minutes the compiz-wm comes up. Now I switched
to metacity, and the wm don't start at all

I updated a server from 6.06 to 7.10. Afterwards the machine boots
(which was quite cool) but I d'ont get a local log in screen.
The boot process seems to hang on running rc.local,
but I think that simply the file in /etc/event.d are
I also don't see the list of available wireless networks.
If this won't be fixed I think I will downgrade my laptop to dapper,
because the functionality is very nice. So will there
be no fix for this issue in edgy?

after setup the partition of the first disk, I
configured a lvm on the 2. and 3 disk.
(so the fs of disk 1 are created first).
after enter finish partion.. the
partitioner screen stays, on the top
