I had the same problem with Intrepid final version with a BCM4318 card
on an Asus A6R laptop, random disconnection from Access Point and no way
to reconnect without rebooting the system. (Network Manager said me the
WEP key was wrong, althought it was the right one)
I came back on Hardy.

I found that using the boot option "irqpoll" (in /boot/grub/menu.lst) makes my
usb mouse movement blocked while there is a high cpu usage.
There is no problem without the irqpoll option, so it is directly linked to it.

After killing the process, I can use my mouse as before.

Same here. It happens after having introduced a audio CD in the DVD
drive, I don't know if it is related or not.
I can't use my usb mouse anymore (with irqpoll option enabled in kernel
boot options, in /boot/grub/menu.lst).

I found the problem comes from Firefox 3 b4 that rises CPU occupation up
to 90% this 3 windows open...
So not a kernel problem but a Firefox problem, sometimes it hangs with a
"memory usage" error.
