Ok, my fault: kernel was upgraded to 2.6.35-23, but dev alsa modules snapshots
are available only for 2.6.35-22 at the momement.
Therefore speaker was enabled (and mic muted) by the updated kernel (and
disabled custom modules), and not because of alsa modules update itself.

After updating linux-alsa-driver-modules to version
2.6.35-22.20101029 I have left speaker working fine finally,
although... internal microphone stopped working again!
This is just ridiculous: are these channels self-excluding? :) Are they
using the same wire by any chance? :)))

attached to this and 2 consequent posts (I can't figure out how to

modules from Ubuntu Audio Dev PPA left internal speaker on my Sony Vaio
F11 laptop [with ALC275 sound chip] doesn't work anymore. Changing
volume levels or muting / unmuting doesn't help.

I'm having Sony Vaio FPCF1190x with GT330M, Ubuntu 10.10 x64 installed (tried
before upgrade on 10.04 x64 as well with the same results).
