It's more clear to me now. The 2.9.1.1 package did indeed not include
the favicon. However, this has already been fixed in the first 2.10.x
that entered Ubuntu. Hence this patch should be reverted since the
package already works correctly without it, and this only adds needless

The addition of Tahoma has been reverted again in 2.1. The problem was
that Tahoma did not include a bold variant, and this causes far more
problems than the availability of Tahoma solves.

I've moved that debhelper code down in the postinst file, so that the
fonts registration will be done only after the downloads have succeeded.
Thanks for reporting. This will be in a future upload of msttcorefonts,
probably 2.2.

I'm sorry, I still cannot reproduce this with package version 0.4.9 or
current trunk. I have this key in my keyring. Can you still reproduce it
with a recent version? Might it be another key that causes the warning?
It may help to add some debugging statements to php-fixkey around line
268 to find
Fixed in 2.2 which is in Debian, and I guess will soon be in Ubuntu

If someone gets confused when configuring the default supplied
mailserver, then the setup for that mailserver should be improved. Won't
it just ask a debconf question that's not more difficult to understand
than configuring a smtp host in caff is.

Why is that a difference in a legal sense?
A package can also e.g. be limited to non-commercial use only, even
though its binaries are just packaged within the distribution. We do not
prompt the user to tell them this non-commercial restriction. I do not
see what the crucial difference is between

Thanks. A problem with the patch is that it doesn't seem to deal with
/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/*.
Isn't there a way to "ask" apt what its proxy is?

Scott Ritchie: there were al kinds of problems with ugly fonts being
filled in into the Tahoma-Bold font, e.g. in web browsers, creating ugly
pages. The problem is that installing a font will have a system wide
impact, so you can't package it just for Steam and not use it in e.g.
Firefox.
