Since "upgrading" to Ubuntu 14.04 I have found that the "Sticky Keys"
function does not work. After playing about with the universal access
system i managed to get the shift key to stick at least some of the
time. I continue to have no sticky function for the 'ctrl' key. i am
using the 32bit ins
The utility itself doesn't actually seem to crash, only the window. Re-
opening the Disk Utility program and selecting "View SMART data" briefly
shows a progress bar for the ongoing disk check, before the window
closes again.

I too am experiencing this bug on 12.04 with a SuperMicro LSI2008 card.
This was working perfectly on Ubuntu 10.x and 11.10, it is only with the
upgrade to 12.04 that this problem has occurred.

This is highly annoying. Using Ubuntu on a laptop connected to a TV
means that the lid has to stay open if the user doesn't know to use
gedit to modify the power settings. Not exactly ideal for watching
videos off a laptop, which I'm sure a lot of users do.

To clarify what my issue was and it's solution. I had two problems:
Port 902 was closed which kept remote users from connecting to vmware server:
This occured because xinetd had somehow gotten removed during the upgrade to
feisty. Installing xinetd and restarting the service fixed that.

I don't know about the original poster, but I have fixed this issue on
my machine.
Apparently with feisty there is an update to the e1000 driver that
enables some functionality on the card that vmware doesn't take kindly
too. I couldn't find any options with modinfo that would make e1000 act
like

which came from the package vmware-server-kernel-modules, which in turn
came from one of the Ubuntu repositories. It was working until I
updated to feisty anyway.

work. Oddly if I ctrl+alt+F7, then ctrl+alt+F9 the mouse works fine,
