I can confirm this bug on xen-tools version 3.1-1ubuntu1 for edgy

This is a rather silly bug, though. The problem is in file 30-disable-

This morning the beep issued reappeared, and I started researching this
bug.
"Enable system beep" is related to gconf key
"/apps/metacity/general/audible_bell". Looking for its value in gconf-
editor i could see that it was indeed set to false - as expected. Odd.
Anyway, I don't use metacity, but

Public bug reported:
I like keep system beeps in gnome disabled. Occasionally -- mostly after
a system crash -- gnome seems to forget the settings for the system

Interestingly, when this occurs, the "Enable system beep" checkbox , in
gnome-sound-properties, _WILL_ be uncheck

Same thing here w/ a clean install of Feisty + gnome-compiz-effects.
As an interesting side note: I use gkrellm here and its window is
configured to appear with "stick state". If I shut gkrellm down, things
start to behave as expected, i.e., after switching virtual desktops,

Edited bug summary and description. This bug is *still* present in

I'm having problems trying to install xen in ubuntu 6.10.
I've installed xen following the instructions in

Same here.
I edited the postinst script, adding a "set -x" to it. Heres the
relevant output:
