HP USB Graphics Adapter (Displaylink) shows

Results of partial workaround on Dell Inspiron 1501 (AMD cpu):
- running 10.04: DisplayLink monitor active, laptop monitor has flashing
cursor only
- running 11.10: no active monitors (login screen not shown anywhere...)

Experienced same results as Sean Neilan on my Dell Inspiron 1501 (AMD
cpu).
Really would like to have both monitors! (Actually, want all 3- second
DisplayLink monitor not yet active/working either!)

here's a workaround to clear all past notify-send 's and apply a smaller
timeout for current notification (warning: notifications will indeed be
lost this way).
i simply wanted scripted notifications quick and dirty w/o
accumulation... i'd prefer another solution, but after wasting too much
time

Expectation:
dialog claims to accept the special character "." dot in Short Names (as
well "-" hyphen and "_" underscore)
Actual:
attempting to create a user with a "." dot results in the er
upgraded to newer kernel and enabled some hpeg/pcie grub defoptions, and
wpa_supplicant connection problems disappeared:

also experiencing this on an asus 1005ha with jaunty.
secured networks (wep/wpa) work fine; all unsecured networks get stuck
in the scanning -> associating -> disconnected loop and eventually
timeout:

I also think this qualifies as a distro bug because the profiling
modules (hotshot, profile, pstats, etc.) are only ever described as part
of the Python Standard Library. All tutorials I've been trying lately
(found through Googling) present these modules as out-of-the-box Python
