Update - I think it was a problem with the upgrade. The config files are
radically different. Appears to be banning and unbanning correctly now.
Considered solved. I'll re submit if a problem resurfaces.

A routine update/upgrade failed to install and told me I needed to do a
dist upgrade. I'm already at Edgy so I was a bit sceptical. I tried it
and it told me it couldn't calculate the upgrade and to report it as a
bug.

gDesklets gets into an infinite loop whenever I try to change the font
on the MultiTail gDesklet's configuration page. This happens whether or
not it is currently tailing any files.

The "options snd-hda-intel model=laptop-eapd" workaround does not work
for me on this laptop, is there anything else I can try?
Module loads OK, just no sound. Is there any way it isn't picking up the
options?
