I've maybe be same problem as you.
X crash completely on startup or shows a destroyed window.
The "fix" for me is to enable the memory share for the grafics. Maybe the
sideport memory is not working with the fglrx driver.
I need to change the option in bios to UMA+Sideport and at least 64MB shared

Battery Status Detected Incorrectly (MSI-1719 / GX700)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/323823
You received
the patch is shipped in 2.6.29-rc5-git7 (but this is maybe a mistake and means
rc7-gid5)
is there a way to apply this patch to the older ubuntu kernel or at least to
the jaunty kernel, whitch is still 2.6.28?

https://bugs.launchpad.net/b
the patch is now shipped to the acpi testers. hopfully it will shipped in the
next kernel verion.
with the patch you don't need the acpi=noirq parameter anymore, brightness keys
works normally.

You
so, we think the patch is ready for upstream. The problem still exists
but occurs way less often. I don't think we figure out whats the "real"
problem is.

You received this bug notification because yo
these laptops want everything a little bit slower ;-)
the patch from http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12011 works great.
just increase the ACPI_EC_UDELAY to 500 and added delays at various places in
acpi_ec_transaction_unlocked()

Kernel detects battery management wrong (MSI PR200 / System76)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147560
You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu

This is not fixed for me because the "fix" cause the old problem. On my
laptop the EC driver needs to be started in poll mode to show the
correct values for battery and ac adapter. The 2.6.27-7 kernel starts
the driver in interrupt mode.
maybe take a look here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s
I've got the problem the other way arround. I need the ACPI polling mode,
because my notebook (MSI-PR200/System 76 Daru2) send wrong battery status
interrupts.
The 2.6.27-7 does not enable the polling mode, 2.6.27-6 does.
