Public bug reported:
I have a beamer. Since installation of kubuntu-15.04 I can't log into my
account if the beamer is connected. The kubuntu splash screen show up
alright, but takes a bit longer to complete, then I am dropped into a
black screen with a (movable) mouse pointer.

I've got a bit more info.
As you can also see in the 'mainline kernel install log' attachment,
since this same update, I also have a graphics driver problem: no more
opengl/hardware accelleration, with all of the 3 driver options (fglrx,
fglrx-updates, xorg). Before I used fglrx-updates because
One more very weird thing: when I use the keyboard to increase or
decrease screen brightness, the laptop goes to sleep. This didn't happen
before.
I checked systemsettings/shortcuts and gestures but this seems ok:

I just installed spamassassin. Now, when I start KMail, the UI is responsive

blocks until spamassassin completes checking all mails. This sometimes takes up

I have a collection containing 8000+ files. Amarok only finds 10 to 20% of them.

I think this is a reasonably serious bug. I know it has been bugging me for a
long time already :)
Example: I just removed 4 obsolete kernel packages, which should be a fairly
straightforward operation, but it took more than 5 minutes to complete. Running

1. After some experiments, I figured out that this only happens when the screen
resolution is changed to something smaller than 800x600.
2. I installed the release version of Ubuntu 9.04 recently (was running the

And to my surprise that seemed to solve the problem! So I rebooted once
more and added it again from the Grub gui at boot and got the error:
