From what I read off this web site, it seems the logitech cameras
themselves have an issue with their firmware. I found even when using
the latest sources of linux-uvc I still had issues with the camera
dropping off, which I could fix by reloading the module and/or
unplugging/replugging the

Doesn't work for me:
I've created the file in /etc/ld.so.conf.d/alsa-lib:
/usr/lib32/alsa-lib
/usr/lib/alsa-lib
Changed /usr/share/alsa/pulse.conf:
Instead of
lib /usr/lib/alsa-lib/libasound_module_conf_pulse.so
Modified to
lib libasound_module_conf_pulse.so
Run sudo ldconfig -v and saw that
I've now got the same problem also.

Thanks.

Hi,
Yep I've got a Gutsy image; my question was related more to which latest

Ubuntu Dapper (latest official supported version), or
Ubuntu Gutsy (latest version overall)?
Or both even?

Thanks for following up; I understand this may not be fixed in older
releases.
This has been fixed upstream in later kernels (from memory, about 2.6.19
onwards, but I'm not 100% sure), I've used the following patch with
success, for those wishing to use this on older releases. That means

The system has since been upgraded from Dapper and this issue has been
rectified as a result of that process.
