I'm currently at kernel version 4.14.11 and the intel firmware drivers

which are:

And the bug is still there. Although it wasn't manifesting itself until

I've just tried 4.13.2, screen is still blinking while on with the
default i915.enable_rc6=1.
There is an improvement though. On the kernel version 4.13 my laptop was
totally crashing after hitting caps-lock twice. Now this ridiculous one
is at least gone.
Although I still need to keep the rc6=0
Just an update, setting a `i915.enable_rc6=0` kernel parameter helps and
the issue is gone but, as this switches of CPU and GPU energy saving,
it's rather a temporary workaround not a final solution.

Bug still exists with 12.04.
Workaround mentioned at post #11 sometime works (I guess you have to hold the
mouse still when releasing button after the 'pause'). Anyway, such workaround
is not convenient enough for normal usage.

Hi,
I installed the patch yesterday. Only to report - it works with Unity 3D,
ATI Radeon card and catalyst drivers.
Thank, you!
PS. I keep my finger crossed this fix will go into main repositories - it's
really useful.

Daniel, Bernie, I had the same issue with floating icons on drag. It was
under 11.04 where dash on primary monitor worked (the exact same monitors
config as Bernie's).
So I don't think the floating icon bug it's related to this one.

Thanks, I did.
This is probably out of scope here but I would like to get a bit focus
about that fact. This bug with with another one (or design decision -

Confirmed, problem still occurs on 11.10 (I'm on ATI binary drivers).
Maybe it's somehow related to this one:

In both cases 'primary' flag for monitor is ignored.
Dash goes to most left monitor.

I see, Daniel.
My OS instance got heavy damage while I was messing with dpkg and apt-get.
Now I'm running on fresh install and feel rather like waiting for released

Can I vote somehow as an user to make this fix more important for

Can't your fix be commited into main repo, can it?

I did:
