While this bug still affects Intrepid, it is no longer an issue in
Jaunty as of acpi-support_0.121.

With acpi-support_0.119 on Jaunty (Alpha 5), the same issue I described
with acpi-support_0.114-0intrepid2 is experienced.
Hard drive temperature reaches ~55C when on AC power. After switching to
battery power, the hard drive temperature soon begins to fall until it
reaches ~46C. Switching back

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: acpi-support
Since upgrading to acpi-support_0.114-0intrepid2 on the 15th, my laptop's hard
drive temperature has jumped 9C when on AC power. On battery power, the
temperature returns to normal.
Downgrading to acpi-support_0.114 and rebooting remedied
Along the lines of what Doug already mentioned, It seems this issue began when
scim-bridge-agent and scim-bridge-client-gtk were upgraded to version
0.4.14-2ubuntu3.
Downgrading to 0.4.14-2ubuntu1 immediately remedies the issue, with no ill
effects.

I too experience this bug since yesterday's update.
Unfortunately, deleting ~/.scim and restarting X does not solve the
issue.
Attached is the result of
dpkg -l |grep scim

Synaptic Quick search doesn't support hyphens - Intrepid 8.10
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: synaptic
The Synaptic Package Manager's (version 0.62.1ubuntu9) Quick search
doesn't appear to support hyphens. As many package names contain
hyphens, this issue is a bit troublesome.
For example:

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I meant ~/.fonts.conf
To reproduce the bug, create ~/.fonts.conf with the following, and then log out
and in:
?xml version=1.0?
!DOCTYPE fontconfig SYSTEM fonts.dtd
fontconfig
match target=font
edit mode=assign name=antialias boolfalse/bool /edit
/match
Huh.
Fixed the issue by setting anti-aliasing to true in my .fonts.conf.
edit mode=assign name=antialias booltrue/bool /edit
Rendering issues are only experienced when it is set to false.
I've attached my current .fonts.conf in case it's of any use.
