Close or delete this bug - I have 64-bit versions of Ubuntu AND Win-8. But an OLD BIOS that does not support uEFI. While updating Grub thru Ubuntu, it somehow decided I would need uEFI, and installed it. Then allhell broke loose. I kept getting errors with every apt-get update, including BOOT-
