2011-05-25 Thread Tor Håkon Haugen
While my machine doesn't "freeze" completely, kworker use 60-100% of one of the cpu cores all times when running Linux 2.6.38-8-generic on a ThinkPad X61. Reverting back to Linux 2.6.35-28-generic for now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is su

I can confirm this bug. Looks to me like it only reads the first 32-bytes of the config, then dies. Running the same udhcpd package as Marco, but the kernel in my case is 2.6.35-22-generic-pae #35-Ubuntu SMP Sat Oct 16 22:16:51 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux -- You received this bug notification becau

Can this be somewhat similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usplash/+bug/140892";>bug #140892? Try changing 'splash' to 'nosplash' in your /boot/grub/menu.1st file. Also, if you remove the 'quiet' option you would at least see whats going on when it fails. -- My computer cannor r

[Bug 224876] Re: Hardy does not control the CPU fan properly.

2008-06-21 Thread Tor Håkon Haugen
I've just done the test Mike Hix wrote about on both a ThinkPad x31 and a ThinkPad x61 (yes, I love the Thinkpads). On my X61 the fan will be steady somewhere around 3200/3300 rpm. That is even if it's idle or if I'm doing the sha1sum test. The X31, on the other hand, it's a lot more interesting

My X6 UltraBase has its own eject button on the left side which results in a "ACPI: \_SB_.GDCK - undocking" entry in /var/log/messages. And I have to agree with Matthew that it makes sense to stop using resources in the dock prior to removal of the machine. -- Support for CD-ROM-eject button, Fn
