Yes. I have rebooted since installing both packages. There are errors
in .xsession-errors. Here is the output when I attempt to connect.

'vpn-state' changed but wasn't defined by object type NMVPNConnection.

This is still marked as incomplete. What else is needed? I am willing
to provide any additional info as requested.

I see this problem as well, but not 100% of the time. It seems that I
can get usable 3D performance with KMS if I reboot with
radeon.modeset=0, select "Normal" for Visual Effects, then reboot again
with radeon.modeset=1. It's still not great compared to when KMS is
disabled but much better than i
Yes. Both network-manager-vpnc and network-manager-vpnc-gnome are
installed.

I should also add that even though I have User Password set to "Always
Ask", it never prompts for the user password.

Using the vpnc plugin in nm-applet, I cannot connect to my vpn. Using
the same settings I can connect using vpnc on the command line. kvpnc
also works fine but I'd rather not install all of the KDE libs for just
that one app.

One interesting piece of information: I forgot to disable visual effects
when I rebooted after re-enabling KMS. When I logged in, performance
was not that bad. It is noticeably slower than with UMS but still
usable. No 1-2s freezes when moving a window as happened when I enabled

Thanks for the suggestion, Bryce. I turned KMS off and 3d performance
was restored. Unfortunately this machine generally has multiple user
sessions logged in and with KMS off I encounter this bug when I switch

First off, let me say that 2D performance is much better overall after
upgrading from Karmic to Lucid. User switching is especially fast and
much improved. 3D performance is really bad though. If I enable
"Normal" visual effects,
I was able to get both user sessions working decently on my system using
the radeonhd driver. I had to set Option "AccelMethod" "xaa" instead of
exa which is the default. Using exa with radeonhd shows the same
sluggish second session problem. Unfortunately, switching to xaa does
not work with th
