Done. I changed a couple things since reporting this though. I stopped
setting the screen positions in the initial commands I posted. I booted
with no monitor attached, without running the script, then connected the
monitor and ran it (again, without settings positions) and sent the
report while

Sometimes I'll get mail into my inbox but the red number badge doesn't
show on the Thunderbird icon. Other times I think mail comes in but
doesn't play a sound (not sure on this latter point.)

I have a Dell 5379 with a touchscreen that always reports 1% battery
with the stylus. This pops up a low battery notification the first time
I use the stylus after booting. The attached patch tells the kernel to
ignore the battery on this particular device, since it appears
