In Oneiric, when logging in remotely with XDMCP + VNC and selecting the
Ubuntu session, Unity fails to properly fall back to Unity 2D. Instead
the user is presented with just their desktop background, with no

FYI, this issue isn't fully gone--I got into this situation today.
Logging in with the Ubuntu session produced the nautilus-menbar-with-
no-launcher issue seen in the screenshots. Logging in with the Ubuntu
2D session worked. In ccsm, the Unity plugin was not enabled so I
turned it on, and then I

support-translations-en no longer exists in Oneiric at all! It hasn't

I've tracked down the problem. A patch is attached for the Oneiric
package. The issue is that ssh enumerates and closes its file
descriptors before opening /dev/tty, so the PTY slave is temporarily
closed and thus an EIO is delivered to the PTY master in read(). The

I've tracked down the problem and implemented a fix. The issue is that
Xvnc in inetd mode detects whether it is run as wait or nowait by
checking if the inetd socket has a valid peer name with getpeername().
If it has a valid peer name then it assumes nowait mode, otherwise it
assumes wait mode.

I think I'm experiencing the same issue. After running overnight, the NM
applet becomes unresponsive--clicking on any menu item does nothing, and
the submenus are empty. I tried restarting the network-manager service
once but it did not fix the problem--I had to also kill and restart nm-
applet.
I experience this very reproducibly on a brand-new System76 Serval
Professional with the base GPU (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M). Not a great
way to welcome people to the world of Ubuntu. :/

Weird, it definitely works in Lucid when I just use my patch. I guess
something has regressed in qemu-kvm since Lucid. :(
You did of course run qemu with the -std vga option, right?

[Regression] Widescreen resolutions are missing from vgabios,
Actually that makes things much worse ... with that package my QEMU
quest (Win7) claims that the only supported mode is 800x600 with 8-bit
colour.
I tested on Lucid with the QEMU from Lucid. Are there any other changes
in this package since 0.6c-2ubuntu1 that might prevent it from working
on
It depends on both of these packages:
libgtkhtml3.14-19 ( 1:3.31) (UNAVAILABLE)
libgtkhtml3.14-19 (= 1:3.30.1)
Removing the dependancy on 1:3.31 would solve the problem (at least
for me)
