Not that the above short list of uninstalled packages is in the minimal
example that I compiled to isolate the smallest footprint possible.
Those packages are requirements for `ubuntu-standard` and on a standard
system will remove most of `ubuntu-desktop` leaving the computer
effectively
Public bug reported:
The upstream package integrates a newer version of the requests python
library. In the debian package it is modified to use the debian packages
python3-requests. However it's not modified to use the older requests
API fully.
At least the bucket.upload_file method is broken
This appears to be fixed upstream but not deployed on my system 16.04. A
quick workaround is to simply extend your python path.

I have tested using trusty-proposed sources and the problem is fixed.
I asked for apt-get install libhwloc-dev and it installed only 36
dependencies including ocl-icd-libopencl1 and not the nvidia packages.
The versions I ended up with are:

I just had the same sort of problem after suspending my laptop and
walking across the office. ~80% cpu in the syncd and the rest of the
core was being taken up by the ubuntuone-client-applet.
It triggered a bug report, but when I said it was the same as this one,
i didn't get a copy of the text.
To take down the ubuntuone-syncd fully it took a kill -9
Restarting it again with $ubuntuone-client-applet is reproducing the
problem.

ubuntuone-synchdaemon runs at 80% CPU then when applet is used to disconnect
the applet crashed but the synchdaemon still runs at full CPU
