As of now, guest-session doesn't leave any locks behind.between the
command
bug 432964 is the key to fixing this.
somehow there was a /etc/{passwd,shadow}.lock files left behind that
prevented the session startup.
This can be marked as fixed, unless someone else is affected.

There was a mixup in nvidia-180-modaliases. from previously used ppa.
Downgraded it, and it reinstalled nvidia-185-modaliases.
