Updated the system this morning and rebooted, the bug no longer
manifests itself the way I described.
Thank you!

Here's something that I can reproduce every time in my system:
0 - Using the default configuration with 4 workspaces (2x2);
1 - Go to bottom-right workspace, open Empathy, Gwibber and Skype;
2 - Go to the top-left workspace, open Nautilus (or any other application,
maybe)
3 - Hit ALT to activate
I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10 and I noticed that for GTK
applications the combination ' + c now produces ç and not an accented c
anymore. Does that happen only with me?
Non-GTK applications, however (e.g. Skype), still output the accented C.
The solution is to edit the file
I have installed Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot and the bug is still there.
I have not tested on the Live CD.

Recently installed Ubuntu 11.10. The links for pt-BR dictionary are
still not there, but Firefox does show Portuguese dictionaries now. Is
it checking directly with hunspell now? Anyways, don't know if this
makes the bug invalid...
