Public bug reported:
Software centre disrupts my workflow with an urgent notification for
"important" updates, yet when I click 'View', it shows nothing.
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 19.10
Package: gnome-software 3.30.6-2ubuntu10.19.10.0
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.3.0-24.26-generic
I confirm. Ubuntu Eoan, machine - Thinkpad T430: kernel 5.0.0 - no
issue, 5.3.0 - crash on sleep, crash after log-in into X ("error writing
to superblock" messages). It seems something wrong happening with DMA
with 5.3.0 kernel.

Same issue for me, grub update cannot create config file.
Problem was into "10_linux_zfs" and 10_linux. These scripts cant detect my pool
with OS, maybe becouse of chroot env.
I did add my pool to:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="root=ZFS=OS/ROOT/ubuntu"
And it isn't working, but it worked on ubuntu 19.04
Not yet - need someone to step up to do the work.

EQ is different. The bass is about 10dB lower; the middles also lower
but not by as much.
Thanks for your hard work,

Hui Wang,
Apologies for the slow reply.
Do you mean that you also have quiet sound after the boot?
Today I upgraded to 4.19.12, and the results seem the same. I'm running
Funtoo Linux with "gentoo-sources" kernel, HDA and the Realtek codec as
modules and plain ALSA with no daemons. I tried to
before replugging the headphones) than without the 0x12 line.
Thanks,

18.10, bug is still here! It's a very basic experience - Ubuntu with
Gnome3 can't make even such simple basic things work! What can we say
about other things, if user can't change keyboard layout in a proper
way?

Hui Wang,
Do you have a patch to set the values? I don't run Ubuntu. Is there a
publicly accessible branch with -proposed patches?
Thank you!

When I use my Bluetooth A2DP headset together with my mouse, I notice

Whenever I leave the mouse still for a few seconds (it seems to enter
some kind of lower-power-mode) and then start to move it, my music most

Hui Wang,
BTW, in case the sound card distinguishes between headphone out and line
out modes, thus may be relevant: my headphones have impedance of 70Ω.

Thank you!
Meanwhile I use modprobe to configure the "verb", but also run hda-verb
on wakeup from sleep or hibernation.

click/pop noise
The two methods appear to do the same, except hda-verb applies the
change when run and the other method at the time the hda kernel module
is loaded. You can run hda-verb at boot instead, but the other method
looks cleaner to me, as it applies the fix when the hardware is
configured by the driver.
bass indeed. But I understand that you can reproduce it, so I
trust in you :)
Many thanks for solving the noise issue, and happy new year!
