I don't know if it's another bug or not, but i've got an error with the
same symptoms as described here, but an error dialogs shows afterward
that `polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1` crashed. That would explained
that the authentication success is not forwarded to the update manager,

this bug occurred at the first install attempt, while the others eclipses
package were installed. The second time it was the only package left to
install, and everything worked as expected.
My suggestion to the maintainer would be to test the eclipse install from a
system without eclipse, or
Exact same problem here, i tried to remove all my custom config, but X
crashes each time I plug the tablet (bamboo1), with the same backtrace
you attached.

I found that i left a file '/etc/hal/fdi/policy/10-wacom.fdi' that i
needed to make the tablet work on intrepid, everything is working fine
now, even with a custom config to enable TCPButton.

Thanks for paying attention to that bug ;). I've switched to intrepid
this week, and it seems that alpha channel support of background image
has been completely removed (well needs more testing, because i tried
with a single image). That wasn't the fix i expected, but it's a fix, so

acceptable CPU resources consumption) without hardware acceleration
(AIGLX) and a compositing window manager (compiz) this is why it's fixed
on gutsy with compiz enabled (but be sure that the transparent
