instead of bionic) but still unable to upgrade

18.04 and the touchpad will work?
how about 17.04 (i prefer lts but 18.04 is not quite ready right?

edited command before boot
cat /proc/cmdline

last few lines (time > 1000) i tried
sudo rmmod elan_i2c
sudo modprobe elan_i2c
