It looks like this will never get fixed...
Here is what the author of xscreensaver has to say about it:

I am still seeing this issue running Ubuntu 12.04. I am using the xfce
login (xscreensaver, not gnome-screensaver).
The strange thing is that moving the mouse wheel will deactivate the
screensaver after it has activated, but it does not seem to prevent the
screensaver from activating in the first
I just booted the 23 Sep 2010 daily Maverick build and thoroughly tested
the network manager. By default, the settings don't match the dialog,
but after changing the settings, all works well. What I mean by this is
that by default, the IPv6 setting is to ignore. But it doesn't ignore

I think Abraham's work-around might be the best I have seen yet, but
still, 'Automatic' should really be 'use it if it is there, DON'T FAIL
if it is not there.' The hack that I have been using is to go into the
network manager's 'Edit Connections' dialog and under the 'Wired' tab,

I am seeing this bug on an IBM ThinkPad R50p, with ATI video. I noticed
that while doing a VT switch would bring back the mouse, so does merely

No mouse cursor after resuming from suspend
I noticed on a newly installed Lucid box that this was still the case.

I am also currently running Lucid 10.04 and am seeing this problem. At
home, I have a dual-stack set up with radvd running on my gateway. With
the IPv6 set to automatic, I get both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses at home,
but then when I get to the office, I get nothing. The infrastructure at

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: autodns-dhcp
autodns-dhcp requires dhcp, but dhcp is not available in hardy. See the
dependency listing at http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/autodns-dhcp
I don't know if dhcp3-server would work as a replacement, but at the
very least the dependencies wou
My laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad T60) also suffers from this problem. I am
running Gutsy and installed the 64-bit Hardy -rt kernel (2.6.24-16-rt).
The Gutsy kernel works just fine for suspend resume for me. It seems
that the Hardy -rt kernel has no problems suspending (all the fans go
off, the suspende
