Apparently there is a workaround available. I stumbled upon it quite by
chance.
It requires to modify the value of options snd-usb-audio index from 02
to -1 in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
Now, since this is not a well known option, please make it configurable
via the usual settings/advanced

This is a very irritating problem.
Symptoms :
- Audio does not work on booting. I usually have to reboot to get it to work.
- I have to fiddle with the audio volume to get it to work. Does not work
everytime. If it does not work, i reboot again.

Using on Natty Narwhal.
Steps:
1. Start gwibber
2. Look on the notification dropdown. It shows 3 labels for
timeline/mentions/direct. They do not get reset to 0 even if I check on main
gwibber client.
