Thank you Brian for looking into this, alas, 13 months after the bug
occurred. ASAIK, the installation media was not faulty and was used in
several other installs. Its too late to re-test this today. 10.10 and

Following advice from #2: I issued the command "apt-get install texlive-
base" and that ended fine with "txt-common" now installing as well.
The problem arose for me with the installation of
"keepnote_0.6.2-1_all.deb" this had the dependency for "txt-common"
