I don't know if I should report this as a nautilus-image-converter bug
or go to ImageMagick, but I am using nautilus-image-converter version
0.3.1~git20110416-1 on Ubuntu 13.04 and resizing this 128x128 image to a
"custom" 96x96 image seems to change the colour of the image!

Actually this is a modem manager bug that does not detects 3G network.
It's get connected but does not provides internet access. I've temporary
found an alternate solution for it.

I have same problem, however for me, the package "dconf" is NOT
installed. If I try to install it suggests to remove "dconf-tools",
"ubuntu-desktop" and "unity", which is abusrd! So could there be a

Can you try to ssh to this "affected" system from outside? My experience is
(was) even if the system is frozen, the ssh terminal is active and is not aware
of freezing.
This will help you in looking at the logs and current running processes.

I am not sure whether my problem is exactly same, although the symptoms
are same: Overheating and abrupt shutdown. (The problem was not there on
11.10). I have Dell Vostro 3700, NVIDIA, core i7 with Ubuntu 12.04
(development version), kernel 3-2-0-6.

Apart from freezing issues now I have started overheating and abrupt

Actually, Shane's approach works for me. The only addition I had to do
was export JAVA_HOME="/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk
I am running ubuntu natty narwhal, and I tried the delete $JAVA_HOME
approach, but I think that is not needed. The linking of the tools.jar
resolved it.

I cannot open synaptic after upgrading from 10.04 to 11.04. Specifically
