It seems that for unknown reason in:
/var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.state
[main]
NetworkingEnabled=false
WirelessEnabled=true
WWANEnabled=true
Just changing to
NetworkingEnabled=true
solves the problem after restart

Confirming this bug with RT2500 using a Belkin F5D7000 wireless card (worked on
Edgy).
Can't set ESSID while interface is up.
Workaround described above works for me but I have to restart networking.
sudo ifconfig ra0 down
sudo iwconfig ra0 essid xyz key 12345
sudo ifconfig ra0 up
sudo /etc/init.
Public bug reported:
udev maps /dev/hdb to /dev/sdb but then fsck tries to check /dev/hdb fs
at boot time. Unable to find them stops to maintenance console.
