I have recently updated system , firefox (36.0.4) reports that vlc and

These lockups occur when I minimize the screen in online videos. I get a
plain white screen but the sound will still be playing.

I was not able to play any of my local music and movies. Rhythymbox player
would not play the songs even if I hit the play button. The movie player
crashed. But both the players started working fine after the reboot.
