Happens with every theme I can test here. By "here" I mean - in Ubuntu
Maverick. Clearlooks, Dust, High contrast theme and Ambience all behave
the same.

Since upgrade to Maverick, rulers sometimes forget to refresh. It
happens only on plain pointer move over canvas area. Middle mouse button
panning triggers proper ruler repainting, for example. Image is attached

Nope. Looks like this isn't dupe since what you marked "Fix released"
(bug #623205) doesn't fix my problem. I still observe "vanishing act"
after upgrade.

Keyboard layout indicator disappears with "key" icon (is it called gnome
keyring?) after update manager is closed. I have no idea if it matters - since
I use Maverick, I'm not waiting for Update Manager show me there are updates.
