What is the status of this bug, someone knows hy it doesn't work! I have 2 installations of Kubuntu Hardy on 2 different pcs, one of them (fully up-to-date) gives the same error as "jeroenvrp", the allocation error; the other pc which is not totally up-to-date, in fact only some packages like pyth

The bootsplasg is really ugly! And why not set the bootsplash to 640x480 for any display and make the bootsplash image smaller, so it would look good on any pc. Why do you think, I hope you understand me! Also by this way it could work without patching something by making the artwork in 640x480.
