Yes, it does. I tried encoding some files with Lucid and the same
thing occurred to some files.
I am also sure that it has nothing to do with my hardware. What
happened on my old pentium 4 is still occurring on my AMD64 X2 system.

1. Some files with the meta tags do play fine under Totem.
2. The problem is restricted to Totem. The corrupted files do play well under
mplayer or other players, which makes me wonder whether it's really a problem
with Totem rather than avidemux.

When I right-clicked on the duplicated icon, it gave me the Gnome panel
options.
For me, the problem mysteriously disappeared 2 days ago, so it might

Sorry for the late response. I have reason to believe that the board is
faulty.
The system threw up a blue screen of death when I tried to install
Windows XP on it. Note that this mobo is supposed to be able to run
Windows XP without a glitch.
I swapped the ram, changed the graphics card,
I'm not too sure if it's a good idea for me to run a development
release, as that *might* bring about unforeseen circumstances.

I did not experience this problem as I'm using a non-HP/compaq hard
disk. Basically, this is a computer that a friend of mine made from
spare parts. But what I'm interested to know is, did you actually
experience a corruption of the partition? If not, then I guess we may
be experiencing

till more or less a week ago when it started to fail.
