I'm now running a fresh install of 8.04.1, with all updates applied. The
problem is still there. I changed the shortcut for switching to the
workspace on the right, to 0xe9, the ThinkPad-specific key above "->".
Then, press 0xe9 did nothing, ctrl+alt+"->" still works.

The problem occurred in Firefox today. I wrote a simple HTML page (as
found in the attachment), Opening it in Firefox using the UTF-8 encoding
should give you a "Hello" and a "你好". But I can only see "你" in the
latter word. This does not happen all time.

This problem appears in Pidgin most, but not all times. Firefox mostly
works fine. I've only observed this issue in Firefox when reading UTF-8
emails using OpenWebMail.
