This is a fresh installation of UBUNTU Lucid Lynx 10.04 on an IBM
ThinkPad X21 Notebook.
The Sound stutters and skips passages when playing music usinf either
Rhythmbox or MoviePlayer. The Music files are MP3 and played perfectly
on UBUNTU 8.04 installed on this same computer

Hi Shane,
This error first occurred when I took the computer with me to Canada and
connected wirelessly to a friend's Router. The problem was repeatable
and occurred each time that either Synaptic or Update Manager was run.
I have just now managed to clear the error by opening a Terminal session
