Public bug reported:

This was ubuntu 8.04  alternate CD downloaded from Georgia Tech mirror
site on 6/24/08. This was a new installation. When I clicked CONTINUE I
later got the messages  "WARNING: Couldn't download package libss10.9.8"
and "no installable kernel was found in the defined APT sources"

Since I am new to ubuntu and linux, I did not try to troubleshoot
these..
