I must admit I don't understand much of all the things beings said here (I'm just a simple ubuntu 06.06 user), but I do think I have a simular problem with my GforceII MX400 and Dapper Drake. When using the attached xorg.conf my system locks-up after maybe 2 minutes of use. Frozen screen and no more mouse movement. I had to use the previous xorg.conf to get the computer stable again. I used automatix to install my graphics-card, so I gues I't the latest driver.
