I have applied the patch for version 2-9 from Maverick onto the original
source package. Building the package was successful and resulted in a
working application.
Solution: Download tagua_1.0~alpha2-9, both the .diff.gz and the .dsc
files from the Maverick page. Apply to tagua_1.0~alpha2.orig.tar

It seems that attempting to install it leads to dependency problems.
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of tagua:
tagua depends on libkdecore5 (>= 4:4.4.0); however:
Package libkdecore5 is not installed.
tagua depends on libkdeui5 (>= 4:4.3.4); however:
Package libkdeui5 is not
According to http://ftp.debian.org/pool/main/t/tagua/, version
1.0~alpha2-9 was made available last month. I might give that one a try
and see if it works any better.
