The "/usr/share/bug/libvlccore2 -> vlc-data" problem will be fixed in
1.0.5-2 (or 1.0.6-1)
I can't find any problem for /usr/share/doc/libvlc2 it correctly point
to libvlccore2 on my box and the build logs says the same

What would be usefull is the log produced by "bustle" when running vlc
and playing a video.
Filtering the log on "/org/gnome/ScreenSaver" would be even better.

regarding vlc_crash.mpg, it's a bug in libavcodec. ffplay crash also on it.
(well very recent ffplay from svn doesn't really crash but get stuck)

What's bother me with this solution is that it implies that squid is
transforming the Icy-MetaData into Xcy-MetaData. so it's not really a

I just like to say that the first line of the changelog for -2 is a bit
mild and due to the mis/absence of patching the package currently in

Hi,
That's a wxwidgets 2.8 problem.
When VLC 0.8.6 was released wxwidgets 2.8 was not out or has just been for a
while, so VLC's interface has been coded with 2.6 in mind. ( to be honest i'm
surprised it even compiled with 2.8)
So it's either a bug in wxwidgets, sth wrong in vlc code or a work
Does it happen with all the video output module. try lauching VLC with
-V x11 or -V glx (the default is xvideo)
Also, could you start vlc from a terminal with -vvv --color and look at
the log when switching back from fullscreen

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: vlc
This is a security problem.
VLC media player CDDA (CD Digital Audio) and VCDX (Video CD) plugins are prone
to a C-style format string vulnerability when trying to open a media resource
location. The bug occurs when handling error and debug messages
I think it need them for the V4L and dvb access modules.
