Bugs,
I see this bug, even though I am using the free NVIDIA driver, and
despite using none of the Indic fonts (Hebrew fonts are installed
though).
Please help. Firefox is completely useless with this bug...

Same problem. Thinkpad T61 (which is not exactly the same as the T61).
SD card is read. But not an XD card..
Take note that the problem occurs in Windows as well, and an update from
Lenovo is required.

I finally managed to compile 2.02.
It turns out that Kile needs the kdelibs4-dev pakcage
so you need to
sudo apt-get install kdelibs4-dev
The older KDE libraries which I installed were not sufficient, and conused the
./configure script.
Installing the newer version will remove these
I confirm this bug, in the same installation.

I followed your suggestion. From a terminal window session (Gnome was
not able start), I did:
sudo apt-get remove rarian-compat #just in case
sudo apt-get install scrollkeeper
update-manager -d
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
